An honest review of a bloggers Airbnb

Cuthbert's Corner, is your quaint, idyllic and Instagram worthy Airbnb located in the heart of Wells, Somerset. This modern and spacious flat is perfect for a few nights away especially for those looking for the more 'relaxing' break.

This recently renovated Airbnb is above a popular independent coffee shop, only a minutes walk away from the centre of Wells. The space is split over two-levels, with a large beautiful space offering a king size bed in the loft and an open-plan living room/kitchen/dining area.

The wonderful couple who own Cuthbert's Corner invited me to stay for a weekend, and I simply could not turn down this offer. With the welcome booklet offering so many great tips on what to do in the area, it was obvious that although the indoor space was designated to finding relaxation, the outdoor area was full of so much to explore.

There are many wonderful places to explore in the area, from the very well known 'Hot Fuzz' pub to Wells Cathedral, the Bishop's Palace and gardens. A few years ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a wedding in the Bishop's Palace.  The whole place was closed off for the use of the wedding guests and it was quite easily one of the most stunning venues I've ever had the pleasure of being.

A hidden gem not far from the Market Place is 'Vicar's Close' which is believed to be the most complete example of a medieval close in the UK. A few years ago I accidentally stumbled across this (I wasn't drinking, don't worry! I genuinely just got lost and turned the wrong way) and couldn't quite believe how incredible the place was.

During my stay I also took full advantage of the marble themed bathroom and relaxed with a few key night-in essentials, which in my case was a Lush bath bomb, Tanya Whitebits self-tan bronzing moisturiser and a travel sized candle, which were all topped off with a a lovely glass of wine while listening to some acoustic covers.

The two night stay was overall great value for money, a great location with plenty to do in the area and a great nights sleeping. I really couldn't have asked for more and would honestly say that out of all the places I've travelled to and stayed in over the years, this was the most 'blogger' worthy location of them all!

Have you had a great Airbnb experience which you would recommend to others? I would love to hear about it in the comments below as I'm always looking for new places to visit.

With love, Alys

  3. Looks like you had an amazing time during your stay and it looks like such a beautifully decorated spot! I've never stayed in an Air Bnb before but I really love the idea of it, as opposed to a hotel as they can be much more quirky and personalised. Thanks for sharing Alys!

  5. I've never used airbnb before, I'm not even entirely sure what it is or how it works (!) haha! But this looks lovely and I love that it's above a coffee shop - that's so cute and I'd definitely make the most of that!

  7. I love the look of the airbnb, it looks amazing! The bed even looks like you'd sleep well, if that makes sense? 😂 Sounds like a lovely weekend too. I've never been to Somerset (other than Glastonbury), it looks beautiful.
